Hunters and Gun owners can change the outcome of the election this Nov.

A shocking recent study showed how much political power gun owners and hunters hold and how much of it is being squandered.

According to data supplied by Vote4America, up to 10 million Americans who seem to support gun rights and candidates who share those views are not registered to vote.

The majority are also located in pivotal swing states that will determine this year’s political dynamics and, consequently, the fate of gun rights in the United States.

Pennsylvania is the state where the greatest number of gun owners and hunters who are not registered to vote (515,277), according to Women for Gun Rights. Michigan (370,619), North Carolina (370,470), Georgia (350,897), and Wisconsin (338,884) come next. Missouri, Virginia, Arizona, Nevada, and Montana round out the top 10. Consequently these are some of the biggest swing states and when it comes to picking the political party that will win in November, the majority of these states fall into the “toss-up” category. Thus, hunters and gun owners have a great chance to speak out and support political candidates who defend their constitutional rights.

The District of Conservation podcast host, Gabriella Hoffman, recently made a comment about this phenomena among a group of people who have a lot riding on local and national elections.

She said that a lot of gun owners and hunters are outspoken on the internet when it comes to defending their rights, particularly with regard to the Second Amendment. This does not, however, always result in action.

Hoffman noted, “A lot of people don’t follow through with voting, even though they talk a lot and frequently about preserving your rights .” It is evident that gun owners and hunters are concerned about their freedom, however they have defeatist attitude and rarely get involved. This is why antihunting groups do so well against us.

This is something we see a lot in the hunting community, many will complain they are losing privileges’ but few actually do something about it. Charles Whitwam of Howl For Wildlife and I discuss this in our last episode

Listen, even small victories can add up to a significant sum by November. “The GOP would win in a landslide if we could convert 2% of all licensed hunters and get them to cast ballots,” Leavitt said to Hoffman.

We need to ensure that hunters and gun owners alike understand the importance of voting. The people we elect to office have an impact on the problems that people care about, such as assaults on individual liberties, our criminal problem, and rapidly rising inflation. Sitting outside the arena complaining about the refs is not going to help bring about change you need to participate in the game.

Please register to vote and get out there and vote hunting. Hunt The Vote has an interactive map to take you to any state to get registered
